Thank You for Listening to God

God is so good. All the time! Sometimes, it seems that He’s not responding to our prayers or maybe just not responding in the timing or in the way we want Him to respond. But that does not mean He’s not hearing us. Often, He has greater plans for us than we have for ourselves and He’s working it all out. Well, that’s absolutely what happened with Give Amore the past few months! It’s been such an exciting adventure watching God move mountains and all we had to do was sit still, pray, trust. Often, those things are the hardest things to do! Sit. Pray. Trust. We want to get into action and move but in some situations it’s completely out of our hands and it’s been pretty amazing to see Him at work!

Below, you will see a few absolutely amazing updates from our ministry. We are truly making a difference and impacting lives for His kingdom. I so wish I could bring you all to Kenya with me someday soon so you could meet these incredible, hard working people. They are desperate for education, skills, jobs, opportunity and are taking advantage of every opportunity Give Amore provides. I love watching them thrive and contribute to their families and communities!

We hope you take a few minutes to read these brief updates of just a few of the stories we have to tell. There’s many more where these come from! Thank you for your support that makes this all happen! We truly are the hands and feet of Jesus and it matters!

God bless you and make His face to shine upon you and give you peace.

The Joy of Water Overflowing-47th Clean Water Well Complete!

As our hearts overflow with joy and love we are glad to report that Another community is celebrating a new well that was commissioned and gifted to them after many years of plight to end their water problem. Located in the village of Ebuhayi Shisiru location. This well brings our total wells completed to 47, a mark way beyond our projection all thanks to your thoughtful generosity.

Sighting water was marvelous but the notion that the same water is providing solutions to tens of families or even more is humbling, satisfying and glorifying to our efforts in realizing our vision of providing long lasting remedy to the massive water menace in western Kenya communities.

This community comprises of tens of families; forming the primary beneficiaries and also being the chief caretakers of its sustainability throughout its years of service to come. Alongside providing clean water to the community, it will be saving women and children valuable time that was prior lost in long treks in search of water, that now can be invested in industry.

It is a huge motivation to reminisce of how far our consolidated efforts in this partnership have changed lives remarkably over time and be hopeful of what the future holds. Further, everyday gratitude and joy exuded by communities such as this one imparts in us the understanding of how it is to be the hands and feet of Christ.

More Tailors Catapulted to Independence

We are excited to report more graduates from our sewing class after five other brilliant young women graduated after successfully completing a six months training on everything embroidery. And because of your love and generosity, they each received a sewing machine to help catapult them into a future of possibilities.

These beautiful women further exhibited their prowess in design and dress creation by each making their own dresses of choice and rocking them as their own models. Further, they kept the dresses as souvenir of their productive days at Give Amore as well as a reminder of the second chance they got at life.

Some are married, others single mothers while others school dropouts, however, this program gives them an opportunity at making it in life by not only providing them with skills but also equipment to set up local businesses and later give back to their communities in different ways they can. We are proud of them and so thankful to those of you who continue to make this a great success. God bless.

A Boost for the Computer Training Program

Everyday there is an increase demand for digital literacy. At the end of last year, our FREE community computer training program started seeing a spike in the admission of new students. Mostly young people who just graduated from high school yearning for computer literacy skills in order to meet the rising technological digital world demand. However, our main challenge was that we had very few computer machines to meet the rising high demand. We only had 4 working computers serving over 30 students in each class.

We are glad to report that we got a donation of 7 more computers. This was through Pastor Ed and Anita in their recent visit to Kenya. This has really boosted this program and made it more effective. We are so thankful to the donors who gave, we now have a total of 11 computers which has made the training program more equipped. We are still in need of more training tools and we trusting God to provide. God bless to those of you who continue to make this a success.

With Gratitude We Present our Requests to God

Do not be anxious about anything, but in every situation, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God.
— Philippians 4:6

Faithful Partners,

We have so much good news to share with you every single day! However, due to time and attention constraints most of us have, we try to summarize a few amazing updates each month to give you a snapshot of what it is your support is actually doing! Though it’s hard to share what is happening emotionally and spiritually with all those we impact on a daily basis, we hope these articles warm your heart to see just a tiny snippet of the people we are impacting!

I’m still in shock that we’ve been impacting lives for over 10 years and all that God has done through our tiny but mighty ministry! We are not done! But, right now, the harvest is great and the workers are few. We need significantly more funds to finish paying 2025 school fees (due in June) for our children. School is not free in Kenya. With the average Kenyan in our area  earning just over $1 per day, having funds to cover school fees, school uniforms, supplies, shoes, and food are not likely. They depend on private support to help make it possible which is why so few children go to school or can continue past elementary (when the cost significantly increases). And we all know, if there’s a way out of poverty it comes through education.

Give Amore tries to tackle this current issue with our FREE computer training and FREE tailoring school to support those who are willing to put in the time and effort for a better future. Getting children to school is fundamental and where it starts.

Most of our children are not currently sponsored. We use general funds to cover everything. When we did have the children “sponsored", it was $50 per month per child. Now, it costs over $135 per month per child (average) for our sponsorship program. You can see the huge shortfall.

We currently need $10,000 ($250 per child) in May to be able to fund the remaining school fees balance. It seems impossible. But God!!!

Please join us in prayer, in support, in sharing our mission with others and join us in watching in awe as God provides. We know He is able.

Thank you for your support. It’s life changing and life saving!

With Gratitude,

Christa Horst

EUNICE EARNING A LIVING FROM HOME.

Meet Eunice, a 23-year-old, a mother of two, sewing program alumnus taking on the world after learning how to fish courtesy of your support through Give Amore. Having graduated from our tailoring program a few months ago, she put together her skills, sewing kit, and sewing machine and the outcome is amazing.

Due to economic challenges and lack of enough capital to rent a shop, she decided to work from home. And we can happily report that she is doing well. With her husband unemployed, this business is her sole livelihood earner that keeps her family fed and her child in school. She recounts how hard it was at first to put everything together but is thankful at how word of mouth made her embroidery enterprise go viral in her remote village and beyond.

Currently she has a myriad of customers who visit her home  daily in need of her services which include dress making, repair works and training. She hopes to save enough in order to set up a shop in the nearby market in the long run and be able to do more for the community that she loves and resides in. She is so thankful to Give Amore for the opportunity to learn. This has really transformed her life.

Your Help Makes a Difference: Sylvia's Story

Many families in western Kenya live under $1 a day, an amount which is impossible to support a healthy livelihood in any part of the world. This urgency and more are the reasons why Give Amore came up with her Orphan Sponsorship Program which focuses on provision of School fees/requirements, food and Medical Insurance. This program has made so much impact. Many children have been assisted, lives have been saved and hope for a better tomorrow restored.

Meet Sylvia, one of our Sponsored Child. She was born a few months after her father’s death, to a young mother and a family of five. Little Sylvia has seen it all from sleeping on an empty belly, lack of clothing and so much more ills life can throw at a person but still her resilience and determination keeps her adorable smile on and eye on a better tomorrow.

Being born with sickle cell disease and lacking of basic needs because of poverty, Give Amore came to her rescue. She was enrolled into our sponsorship program and started receiving general support which has really transformed her life and restored hope.

Her hope is fueled by your dedicated support that supplements her diet monthly, medical insurance, coverage for her school fees and supplies every semester and so much more priceless backings. She dreams to becoming a nurse when she grows up and help guide children like her to a hopeful tomorrow.

With your support she can become anything and everything she aspires to be and we pray it continues until they are all realized and not the reverse. God bless you for all you do and we pray he keeps providing for little Sylvia like he has for years now.

MORE EMPOWERMENT INTO THE DIGITAL WORLD

The demand for digital skills keeps growing every day. We are glad to report that another batch of computer student beneficiaries from Give Amore free computer training school have been catapulted into the digital world. These 25 young men and women graduated after successfully completing a three months course in computer basic skills. They are now empowered with skills which enables them to navigate the internet, use software, access online services and leverage digital tools effectively

They expressed their gratitude to Give Amore and to those who support this noble initiative. We pray and wish them well for the future. Thank you for making this a success.

God's Goodness Springs Forth

See I am doing a new thing!
Now it springs up; do you not perceive it?
I am making a way in the wilderness and streams in the wasteland.
— Isaiah 43:19

Happy Spring Dear Partners,

God’s goodness is springing forth as you’ll soon see by reading these amazing articles! These are just a few of the amazing life-giving transformations happening within our communities! There’s so much more every single day that I’m privileged to hear about and see!

A story I’d love to share is about a little boy that came into our lives years ago. He was the product of incest. His mother just a teenager raped by her father. He went to prison. The child she bore was adopted by some of our then TGD Staff. The birth mother was brought into our program and sponsored to finish school (boarding school), get therapy and even finish college.

The baby is now a young boy and has been in our sponsorship program since infancy. I was just presented a video of him reciting scripture in front of his church community. He’s strong, smart, confident, loved fully and knows Jesus Christ as his savior. God is so good!!!

This story could have had a much different ending but thanks to generous sponsors that helped bring beauty from ashes, we’ve been able to transform the lives of the victim and the child brought into this world through it. He brings so much joy to his family. All lives matter. All humans have purpose. Our God is a redeemer.

This reminds me of the true value of our sponsorship program and just a glimpse into the impact we’re making. Unfortunately, we’ve had quite a few sponsors fall off and are in desperate need for at least 5 $100 recurring monthly donors (or 10 $50 donors, or 1 $500 donor) to cover current sponsorship needs. I’ve never dropped a child from our program and would hate to have to make that choice now.

Please pray about how you can further support us or share what we’re doing so others can receive the gift of knowing you are truly impacting lives!

Thank you to all who make this possible! We truly are the hands and feet of Jesus and what a privilege and honor to be a part of God’s mission!

The Tailor of a Difference

Meet Benadette, a mother of three, who is so passionate about fashion and design and now boasts of a tailoring business enterprise in her village market out of the support she received of a sewing machine and more importantly sewing expertise she gained at Give Amore’s tailoring school.

She graduated from our Tailoring Program in June 2024 and visiting her months after her graduation, this Made with Amore alumni is in a good place and giving it her best shot at business, a career she prior had no idea of and never even fathomed venturing in.

This venture has changed her life for the better, she is now able to take care of her family and her children’s school needs. However, she also stated that her main challenge is fabric given that she is located in a remote location but from her little savings she tries her best to meet the costs. Currently she is a sole worker majoring in children’s clothes, handbags and repairs. She looks forward to further grow her business and skills. We wish her all the best for the future.

Another Community Has Clean Water-Well #46 Complete!

When a community receives clean water, they are given the resources of health, hygiene, education, and time to create a more sustainable society. Give Amore has been at the forefront of providing clean water to vulnerable communities for over 10 years now and we are glad to announce that our 46th well is complete, commissioned and already serving its worthy beneficiaries with unlimited supply of clean water for their domestic needs. The well located in Ebuhai village has a vital responsibility of taking care of tens of families in the village and beyond.

The marveled community praised this problem solving project terming it thoughtful and most timely especially in this dry season when clean safe water is barely accessible. Moreover, they extended their heartfelt gratitude and love to the sponsors and the entire team who made this possible.

Just like its predecessors this borehole is a special significance of hope, joy and love that God desires to be reverberated throughout the world among all mankind. This wonderful well has only activated its fathomless service to approximately over twenty homesteads and so much more from neighboring villages and beyond. Thank you to you who made this possible.

IMPACTING THE COMMUNITY THROUGH DIGITAL SKILLS.

BACK TO SCHOOL

Happy New Year 2025, Give Amore takes this chance to thank you for your continued support and look forward to a much more productive 2025 full of so much joy, hope and love.

It’s back to school for Students in Kenya. We thank God for the provision as all our sponsored children are well equipped with the necessities to face the learning period ahead of them. Each student received the required stationery, new school uniform, books, toiletries and more.  With all their school fees for the semester paid fully up front, all our sponsored children will have all the time to focus on their studies without distractions.

It is through your much needed help that these children are in school. Thank you so much for your support and we pray for them that God protect them and bless them with good health and wisdom to pursue their dreams now and in the future to come.

A GIFT TO BEHOLD! WELL 45 IN SERVICE

Water is life, and without it, there’s no life. And because of your love and generosity, our 45th well is complete and blessed to serve a new community. Hope once lost on lasting solution to water problems by villagers of Emusanda has been rekindled by the sinking of a clean water well.

After drinking from streams and even at times ponds for years, the people of Emusanda village now have a reason to smile and a renewed hope of a better tomorrow free from the problem of constant waterborne diseases and unaffordable medical expenses and even at times, fatalities.

Grateful to this life-changing project are women and children who are always in the frontline in the search of water for domestic consumption daily. Drawing from it for the very first time, this deserving community exuded their immeasurable gratitude in song and dance praising God for this precious gift that will serve them and many more generations to come.

At the time of publishing this newsletter, well number 46 construction is underway in another remote village of Eshisiru and it’s projected to be complete in a fortnight and we are more thankful that you have been a huge blessing in this milestone. Sunk half way through; we are hopeful that it will be of much help just like its predecessors… instilling hope and joy while cultivating communal growth through love.

ANOTHER BATCH OF TAILORS LAUNCHED INTO THE WORLD OF POSSIBILITIES

Our good work of empowering the community through imparting of sewing skills continue to bear more fruits. This is indicated by the recent graduation of another batch of tailoring students. These brilliant ladies and a gentleman successfully completed a free of charge six months course on everything embroidery.

And because of your support, they each received a sewing machine, sewing kit and a stool to help catapult them into a future of possibilities. They also got a chance to showcase their skills earned by making their own dresses and keeping them as part of their completion gifts.

This is a life-transforming program as most of these students come from very humble backgrounds with limited education and resources hence, the skills acquired goes a very long way in providing bread and butter to their families. We are so proud of them and we wish them well for the future.

We Give Thanks to the Lord for He is Good!

Generous Partners,

What an exciting time to be a part of Give Amore! Just as we started to think we’ve been buried, we start to see some light peeking through and we know that we’ve been planted! Life and all that goes with it runs through seasons. Good times. Hard times. Stormy seasons. Drought. And with the almost 10 years under Give Amore’s belt, we are no exception!

I remind myself often that what I look for I will find. We can build whatever evidence we need to create a narrative to tell justify our feelings. And, frankly, I’ve done a lot of that in 2024. Possibly because I’ve had time to as so much seemed to come to a halt or a major slow down this year. But, I’ve focused on staying in action-prayer and time reading God’s word and staying plugged into people that remind me how big God is!

So I want to share with you and focus on the fact that we’re still here! God is still at work! We received our largest, single donation in the history of Give Amore recently and we’ve completed 44 wells with #45 funded! Our children are getting educated, we’ve graduated dozens of students from high school, our sewing school and our computer training classes! We ARE making a difference and God is providing! He’s not done with us yet! He’s met our needs and He will do it again!

We couldn’t do what we’re doing without the generous support of our amazing partners! THANK YOU! If God is stirring on your heart to test your faith by supporting us (new or increased), I want to encourage you to follow that! No one has ever become poor by giving! And true faith is the confidence in what we hope for and the assurance of things not seen! Hebrews 11:1. Try it. Watch what God does! I promise you will be blown away at how God will provide for you when you help provide for His children.

We have a goal of an additional $5000 General Fund donations by 12/15 so we can provide a Christmas meal and school supplies for our children. We also need at least $3000 in monthly recurring donations to keep up with our current commitments due to inflation and attrition of donors. Would you prayerfully consider joining us on this mission to be the hands and feet of Jesus to our brothers and sisters across the globe? www.giveamore.org to make a tax deductible donation.

We wait with expectation!

In Gratitude and Thanksgiving to our Generous Partners,

Christa Horst

Pure Joy in Every Drop!

We are glad to report that our 44th well is complete. It was joy and jubilation for the residents as a new well was launched into service. God answered our prayers and made everything beautiful in its own time. It has been a tough period. This is our second well this year with our last well, being January but because of your generosity and care another community is celebrating a new well that was commissioned and gifted to them after many years of plight to end their water problem. Transforming lives, one well at a time! This village now has access to safe, clean water, which brings health, hope, and happiness!

This well is located in Eshiamboko village which has been haunted by lack of clean water and water-bone diseases for a very long time. This Clean well is a great relief to this community. The Community and especially women and children all over the community and beyond will immensely benefit from this magnificent gift.

We are glad with the positive impact that we continue to make. Access to clean water is necessary for any society to thrive. This new well is more than a source of water—it’s a foundation for health, happiness, and hope. Every new well brings not only clean water but the power to grow and thrive. In a time of famine, we’re seeing gardens flourish in villages where there’s never been a chance to grow food before. These crops are feeding families and giving hope, all thanks to water. Thank you to everyone who makes this possible!  We pray for more.

Lilian's Amazing Story

Meet Lilian, a cheerful, hearty woman who is basking in the beauty of her hard work that keeps yielding every day.  This resilient woman, 27 and a mother of 3 gave her all in our free tailoring school and successfully completed, an effort that got her where she is now.

After her graduation from the program a year a go, she hit the ground running and started her tailoring shop in her village market something that she is marvelled at and proud of. Gifts of knowledge, skill, and a sewing machine changed her life immensely in many ways she never thought of.

With her husband unemployed and with three kids to take care of, Lilian used to worry about her tomorrow but now hope for the future has been restored. When we visited her months after her graduation, this Made with Amore Alumni is in a good place and giving it her best shot at business, a career she prior had no idea of and never even fathomed venturing in.

This program has changed her life for the better. She is now able to take care of her family and her children’s school needs. However, she also stated that her main challenge is fabric given that she is located in a remote location but from her little savings she tries her best to meet the costs. Currently, she is the sole provider for her family specializing in making bags, clothes, and clothing/fabric repairs.

Wow! With God All Things Are Possible!

Dear Partners,

We pray this newsletter encourages you as much as it encouraged me to read these stories of lives impacted by our giving! The world seems extra dark these days. Wars, flooding, storms, elections, protests, inflation, immigration crisis and so much more! I know for me that when I feel so helpless under the news headlines I try hard to (first off) PRAY then to ask God to help me be a light in this world.

Give Amore has been, for almost 10 years, a lighthouse of hope to our brothers and sisters across the globe and God is not done with us yet!

As the director of Give Amore, I was working on some quarterly reporting and tracking when something jumped off the page of our accounting books…a total of donations (as of 9/28) of just over $960,000 since our inception in 2015! I couldn’t believe my eyes!!! Little ol’ me, with no non-profit experience, but with a heart to help others, teamed up with a bunch of amazing people who want to help be the hands and feet of Jesus have raised just shy of $1 million dollars in less than 10 years! I can’t even!!!! We did this together!!!!! Be proud, be very proud!

I want to remind everyone that we have no corporate sponsors. We have no on-going/regular church support. This is individuals doing what they can to support His kingdom and together we are a mighty force for the gospel of Jesus!

So, it got my wheels turning…Can we raise $1 MILLION by our 10th anniversary? Or better yet, by the end of the year? I believe we can! So, I’m asking you to join me in prayer that what seemed impossible 10 years ago is not impossible with God and His people in ACTION!

It’s been a very slow year for clean water wells as any additional funds we’ve received have gone to help us cover our education fees for our sponsorship program. We need more wells!

We haven’t completed any jigger clinics in a long while. Jiggers are still an ever present struggle.

We haven’t been able to raise salaries for our team because they have been advocates for our ministries but they are earning a very small wage that needs to be raised.

And, our sewing program risks not being able to provide sewing machines to our graduates because there are very few ongoing donors to support it.

Our funds are always put to amazing use and you can read along to see where some of them have gone and the lives they are impacting.

Thank you for your support! Pray with us for a mighty windfall of support to help us not only meet our shortfalls but exceed my vision. With God all things are possible!

Your Sister in Christ,

Christa Horst
