Health Update for Valery and Sylvia

Valery and Sylvia.png

Valery and Sylvia were distressed with illnesses different from one another but, severe in their own case, when we met them while traversing villages six weeks ago.

Valery was suffering from a fungal infection on her head which if was not promptly handled would have caused permanent extensive damage on her scalp. On the other hand, Sylvia was distressed from malnutrition and upon further diagnostic tests, it turned out she has sickle cell anemia too.

None of these children are in our sponsorship program but they are beneficiaries of our extended compassion initiatives towards the larger communities in western Kenya.

As it currently stands, Valery is free from her fungal discomfort and only pending full recovery. However it turns out, Sylvia will be dependent on prescribed medicine all her life due to the inherent anemic condition.

Sylvia is a sister to Marceline, one of our sponsored children and given their placement along the poverty lines, it is evident they cannot afford her periodic medication. Let’s all pray for her health, provision and care.
